Dungeon Rampage Remastered — Vampire Hunter Builds: Traps or Crossbows
The updated guide’s default Vampire Hunter uses 50 Shooting Power, 75 Mana Regen, 75 Trap Power and 0 Max Health. Its crossbow variant uses 75 / 75 / 0 / 50. The choice is between trap investment and a crossbow-focused setup with extra health.
The source’s crossbow advice assumes using the Crossbow’s HOLD ability and distinguishes Dual and Repeater from Seeker. Do not copy an older sword or Shooting Defense setup: the March update replaced that stat and removed swords from this hero.

Trap investment versus crossbow investment
| Allocation | Shooting Power | Mana Regen | Trap Power | Max Health | Choose it for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Default traps | 50/75 | 75/75 | 75/75 | 0/75 | Invest heavily in Trap Power and regeneration. |
| Crossbow | 75/75 | 75/75 | 0/75 | 50/75 | Prioritize shooting and health, with no Trap Power investment. |
Each row allocates 200 points in total and treats 75 as the per-stat ceiling shown by the source. It is a finished allocation, not a verified level-by-level spending order. If you do not have that many points, use the stated role to plan ahead; the source does not establish a refund method, a respec cost or a mandatory order for your next point.
The crossbow recommendation has a firing condition
The author tells crossbow users to use the weapon’s HOLD ability. The guide favors Dual rather than Seeker and describes Repeater as exchanging damage for speed. These are attributed weapon choices, not measurements of every possible roll or a guarantee that all crossbows behave identically.
- Check whether you are selecting a trap-focused or crossbow-focused role.
- For the crossbow option, identify the actual crossbow family and use the firing behavior named by the source.
- Do not expect strong trap scaling from the crossbow row’s zero Trap Power.
- When comparing weapons, keep the author’s speed-versus-damage distinction instead of assuming a faster weapon always does more total damage.
Why old sword and defense builds do not match
The March 9 developer update replaced Shooting Defense with Trap Power and removed swords from Vampire Hunter’s weapon set. It names crossbows, traps and light throwing weapons. A classic or early chart that depends on swords is not a current instruction for this hero. Vampire Hunter update · March 9, 2026.
The patch confirms the kit change. It does not independently test the community author’s two training allocations.
Damage and debuffs come with positioning costs
The source values trap damage, regeneration and debuffs while identifying weak defense, mobility and health regeneration. The default row also has zero Max Health investment. If you are struggling to survive, compare that deliberate tradeoff with the crossbow row rather than assuming trap damage also supplies a defensive safety net.
You have selected a Vampire Hunter role, checked your current crossbow or trap kit and the March stat replacement, and compared the four named training values with the allocation you intended. If the weapon assumption is missing or a later patch changes that stat, revisit the choice rather than treating the row as a guaranteed result.
