Dungeon Rampage Remastered — Ghost Samurai vs Dragon Knight

Evidence checked · Source review November 6–7, 2026 · Remastered 1.0

The short answer

Choose Ghost Samurai when the source-described Light Katana/Short Sword dash toolkit and a dedicated movement allocation fit your goal. Choose Dragon Knight when you want the source-described front-line/support role, charm support for allies or pets, and a speed-versus-health choice that keeps 75 Melee Power.

This comparison is an editorial reading of the same updated build source, not a head-to-head damage test. The heroes use different training stats, so matching their numbers column-for-column would be misleading.

Compare the job, not a universal tier label

DecisionGhost SamuraiDragon Knight
Movement conditionThe author names Light Katana plus Short Sword and the hold-to-dash action. The default row invests 75 in Super Speed; the Push row reduces it to 50 for health.
Support contextSource emphasis is physical damage and mobility.Source describes dragon charms buffing allies and pets.
Default allocationMelee Power 50, Spirit Energy 75, Movement Speed 0, Max Health 75.Melee Power 75, Super Speed 75, Max Health 50, Max Mana 0.
Alternative’s costQuick Step removes Melee Power investment and drops health to 50 for movement 75.Push trades 25 Super Speed for 25 Max Health, keeping Melee Power 75.
Resource warningThe author flags high mana drain, weak defense and weak health regeneration. Both recommended rows put zero points into Max Mana; actual equipment and role still matter.

Let the equipment you own decide the first branch

  1. If your plan depends on Ghost Samurai’s dash, verify the named Light Katana/Short Sword condition before choosing it for movement.
  2. If your group needs the Dragon Knight support role, inspect the actual charm and its effect rather than assuming every weapon supplies the same buff.
  3. Choose the relevant default or alternative allocation on the full hero page. Each row is a 200-point endpoint, not an invented leveling sequence.
  4. Check destination access on the hero you intend to use; an account’s progress elsewhere is not the same as that hero’s map unlock.

When you lack the key weapon or effect, that missing condition matters more than a subjective “best hero” label.

What would change the recommendation?

If your immediate problem is surviving a difficult push while retaining melee investment, the Dragon Knight Push row is the directly described health trade. If your priority is the specific dash-oriented movement toolkit and you accept the damage/health cost of Quick Step, Ghost Samurai is the relevant comparison.

These are conditional choices, not proof of who clears every dungeon faster. We have no controlled current DPS test, complete unlock-price comparison, universal difficulty ranking or evidence that either hero bypasses map requirements.

Keep Remastered release dates attached

Ghost Samurai’s April update describes katanas, swords and light throwing weapons. The November 1.0 notes introduce Dragon Knight as unlockable and add Horn Charm context. Original-game hero pages can help explain a historical build’s origin, but are not a current unlock-cost source. April hero update; November 1.0 notes.

You can explain the role, equipment condition and training tradeoff behind your choice, rather than relying on an unsupported universal winner.
