Dungeon Rampage Remastered — Friend’s Map Locked?
In Remastered 1.0, you can join a friend on a map only if your active hero has unlocked that map. Check the hero you are using right now and that hero’s access to the target map before treating a failed join as a network problem. 1.0 patch notes · November 3, 2026.

Check the specific map and hero
- Identify the map your friend is playing. The 1.0 notes also say you can view which dungeon a friend is in.
- Check which hero you currently have active.
- Check whether that hero has unlocked the target map. Progress made with a different hero does not establish this current-hero prerequisite.
The first and third points come from the 1.0 notes. Keeping the hero and target map together is the practical consequence of the published rule. The notes do not provide a full map-unlock checklist or a level requirement for every map. 1.0 patch notes · November 3, 2026.
Choose an eligible route
| What you find | Next choice |
|---|---|
| The current hero has not unlocked the target map | Use a hero that already has access, or choose a map the current hero has unlocked. |
| Both players want to use their current heroes | Agree on a map those heroes can access, rather than assuming one account’s progress opens it for both. |
| The current hero already has the map unlocked | This prerequisite is met. A continued join failure needs a different explanation. |
These are routes around the stated eligibility condition, not a newly verified unlock method or a guarantee that every join error will disappear. 1.0 patch notes · November 3, 2026.
Friends Only does not remove the map prerequisite
Friends Only concerns who can enter a run. The 1.0 map rule concerns whether the joining player’s active hero is eligible for that destination. Enabling Friends Only is therefore not evidence that an otherwise locked map has become available.
The distinction combines the community’s matchmaking tip with the developer’s explicit active-hero condition. It is an explanation of the two rules, not a claim that we tested a particular invitation failure. New-player discussion · captured November 4, 2026, reply #1; 1.0 patch notes · November 3, 2026.
If the same map is already unlocked
Check the exact target and active hero once more, then keep the observed error and version when reporting the problem. The source supports this one eligibility check; it does not establish a universal repair for invitations, server outages or connection failures.
Older original-game and Early Access guides describe progression differently. They are useful context, but their hero counts, unlock currencies and progression numbers are not a current 1.0 map-unlock table. You have checked the correct hero against the correct map and selected a destination that meets the published prerequisite. Successful joining must still be checked in your game; this page does not promise to resolve every join failure.
